ONYX awarded Made in the UK, Sold to the World Award.

Onyx wins made in the uk award

ONYX Insight’s global success has been recognised by the UK government’s Department for International Trade for its export strategy.

As winner of the inaugural ‘Made in the UK, Sold to the World Awards’ in the ‘digital’ category, ONYX demonstrated how its innovative technology is used to help the wind industry work better and smarter. Accelerating the transition from fossil fuels to clean energy.

With exporting at its heart since its launch in 2017, ONYX currently monitors more than 14,000 wind turbines in more than 30 countries, operating from seven global offices. The company’s growth has resulted in an increase in headcount to approximately 140 and won new contracts across the world – most recently in Thailand, Taiwan, and South Africa.

Bruce Hall, CEO, ONYX Insight said:

“Exports have helped position ONYX as the leading global predictive analytics solution provider. Our recent growth as the leading independent provider of predictive maintenance solutions has led to the creation of highly skilled jobs at home, in software, data analytics and engineering.

The success we have achieved doesn’t just lead to healthy forecasts, but by exporting across the world. ONYX has demonstrated that the East Midlands is a UK hub for software and advanced sensing technology for the renewables market.

This award is a great recognition of how ONYX has created a world-leading predictive maintenance solution that is used by six out of the top 10 operators in the global wind industry. We continue to develop technology solutions with an engineering approach that are lowering the cost of energy, making wind energy more efficient and affordable for the world.”

“With the number of owners and operators doubling over the last five years, and wind portfolios continuing to grow, there is an increasing demand for analytics solutions focused on predictive maintenance, used to provide the integrated data tools and analytics which are increasingly important for wind stakeholders to future-proof their operations and maintenance (O&M).

Backed by a wealth of experience in Europe and US offshore wind, ONYX can use this knowledge to support growing markets across the globe.

The quality of entries we received was extremely high, and many of the shortlisted entries demonstrated excellent detail around how their business growth and success is intrinsically linked to international sales. ONYX highlighted how UK exports of technology can have a positive climate change effect.”
