ONYX are expanding and seek candidates for a business development role in the US division, based in Boulder, Colorado.  As a technology business this role is appropriate for candidates with the sufficient technical background for scoping and pitching such products and services.  People skills, creativity in pitching and shaping offers, attention to detail and a self-driven approach are essential traits for a successful candidate.

Reporting to the Regional VP, you will benefit from an existing pipeline of opportunities and the support of our global commercial team and senior leadership.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A background in wind, mining or similar heavy industrial machinery sectors
  • Experience of marketing and selling technical solutions in B2B
  • Strong contract/commercial and relationship management skills
  • The credibility to operate at a senior level within customer and partner organisations
  • A strong technical background and/or a first degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • The ability to scope, price and communicate high quality technical proposals
  • Engaging personality with ability to push for and close a deal

Additional considerations will be paid to:

  • Second language skills (fluent, business level)
  • Existing wind industry network
  • Creative skills (writing, offer development, presentations)

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the sales relationship and commercial transactions
  • Travel to customers and pitch ONYX products and services
  • Build our opportunity pipeline and close opportunities
  • Scope and develop business opportunities with the engineering team

 

You must have the right to work in the USA and locate in the Boulder/Denver area.

Based in our US office, the Sales Operations & Market Research manager will support a global team of business professionals delivering projects in over 10 countries.  You will gain international exposure and experience from dealing with the largest utilities and independent power providers in renewables around the globe.

This is a role for a resourceful and driven “go-getter”, with creativity, discipline and leadership potential, seeking the chance to accelerate your career development in the global renewable energy sector.

Reporting to the Global VP Sales & Engineering, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting market research on new customers, industries, and geographical regions.
  • Providing deep analysis and research leveraging market databases to support targeted sales campaigns for business expansion.
  • Collaborating with the sales team on communications, strategies, and research needed to engage current and prospective clients.
  • Supporting marketing activities, such as creative content review and coordinating lead generation programs.
  • Ensuring the quality and accuracy of client account plans.
  • Coordinating our tender documentation and process, supporting Business Development Managers with the preparation and submission of tender documentation.
  • Producing high-quality presentation resources the provide insight into markets and key accounts.
  • Acting as a super-user for our Salesforce CRM system, assuring the quality of our commercial records and acting as the link between the sales team and the organization for this system.
  • Supporting the sales forecasting process by monitoring and assuring the quality of data in our CRM system.
  • Assisting and supporting business development managers on a global scale.
  • Coordinating the logistics and transportation of hardware products, liaising effectively with suppliers and customs organizations. development in the global renewable energy sector.

Skills & Experience You Should Posses:

  • Masters degree or similar level of relevant tertiary education preferred.
  • 2+ years experience supporting the sales department of a global organization.
  • 2+ years experience managing a CRM database (Salesforce ideal).
  • Polished writing, document presentation and proofreading skills.
  • Structured and organized approach to workload management.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.  Spreadsheet skills.
  • Flexible and responsive with great communication skills internally and externally.
  • Resilient and positive approach to working within a team.
  • High personal quality threshold and a commitment to quality work outcomes.

We grew by 50% in 2019, and with an equally strong pipeline we are now seeking an energetic, skilled and motivated engineer for the UK and Northern Europe region.

ABOUT YOU

  • Right to work in the UK
  • B.S. in one of the following engineering or related areas: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Mechatronics
  • Fluency in English plus Spanish/Portuguese
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical vibrations, frequency analysis and signal processing techniques
  • Recent wind energy experience
  • Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of dynamics of rotating machinery

ABOUT YOU

  • We are looking for a UI/UX specialist to bring UX design concepts into the ONYX software development process, and lead the front end development of our new platform level tool.
  • You will deliver great-looking and easy to use software interfaces, using your confidence in designing and presenting wireframes/mock-ups, then working with clients to convert these into working software.
  • Your main areas of responsibility will include front-end UI/UX design and development, and leading interaction with customer users and user groups to capture requirements and mock-up solutions. You will also be able to support back-end development process to a limited extent as required.
  • To succeed in this role you will be used to working with a wide range of stakeholders and able to develop great working relationships with Customers, Software Developers & Lead Developer, Dev Ops, Product Managers/Owners and Sales.
  • You will be able to evidence a passion for design and UX, be comfortable with customer interaction and able to take the initiative where requirements are less specific than we would like.

ABOUT YOU

  • We are looking for a full stack developer to work on front and back end solutions for our new cloud hosted AI data analytics platform.
  • You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality solutions to diverse technical problems ranging from AWS data storage solutions to React UI components.
  • Your main areas of responsibility will include developing high quality web-based applications utilising a variety of technologies (Javascript/React, Python/Django, PostgreSQL, etc) and understanding requirements from Product Managers/Product Owners and turning these into working software products. Android and iOS app & AWS/cloud deployment experience will also be useful.
  • To succeed in this role you will be able to develop great working relationships with Customers, Software Developers, Lead Developer, Dev Ops, Product Managers/Owners and Sales.
  • You will be a team player who works closely with colleagues in the development team. Quality and attention to detail is top priority for you and you will actively contribute to agile processes.
