Due to significant organic growth and strategic investment, we are now seeking a Finance Director.

The purpose of the role is to provide strategic finance leadership to the organisation, and oversee delivery of operational finance systems and processes. Scope is global and extends across 5 existing operating entities in US, Europe and Asia. The role is also responsible for the establishment of new trading entities and the support of inorganic growth activity. Accountability extends to delivery of effective global governance, reporting and cash management services, and the effective management of risk. Operating at board, organisational, customer and operational level, the role also manages ONYX’s IT function and procurement processes. Stakeholder management with ONYX’s parent company and Board will be an important part of the role. Team Headcount responsibility is 9 through 5 direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities

· With CEO and ONYX leadership team, develop and implement the ONYX finance strategy

· Engage with investor and board stakeholders re governance processes

· Deliver consolidated period end, budgetary and business performance reporting across the group

· Ensure ONYX is compliant with statutory tax and reporting requirements globally

· Oversee the organisation’s financial/ERP systems, and wider IT infrastructure

· Manage cashflow risk and treasury/insurance services

· Ensure that procurement processes are robust and embedded across the group

· Deliver payroll services globally and in line with regional compliance requirements

· Establish new trading entities to support the organisation’s growth strategy

· Support the assessment of inorganic growth opportunities & M&A activity

· Contribute as a member of the ONYX global general management team

 

Key Competencies

· Minimum 10-15 years’ experience of strategic finance leadership in a B2B context

· Exposure to reporting, compliance and risk management in a global, group context.

· Experience of global tax/financial and group consolidated reporting conventions

· Ability to optimise finance strategy to drive organisational growth and scale-up activity

· Experience within a project-focussed and/or professional services organisation

We are now seeking a consultant engineer with deep knowledge of wind turbine blade technology to support the growth of our consultancy services in the European market. A recognised technical expert, you will engage with customers and colleagues to deliver excellent professional advice on performance and blade reliability problems to wind turbine power producers. Prior experience at a wind turbine OEM, blade OEM, or leading power producer/consulting firm in the renewables sector is an essential requirement for this role

  • Deliver expert technical consultancy in the areas of blade failure analysis, performance upgrade assessments, repair reviews etc.

The Role

You will be a well established data engineer, with proven experience in building pipelines to extract, transform, load, and store large (100’s GB) of data coming from a variety of sources and in a variety of formats. Experience in the renewable energy sector, with cloud computing services such as AWS, and with modern ML stacks in Python will be the key to success in this role.

  • Develop , expand, and maintain data pipeline solutions which can store, process, and extract value from a large amount and variety of data related to the wind energy sector.
  • Develop solutions which use that data in aggregate to bring insights and values to customers.
  • Be responsible for combining and enriching very disparate data sources, including SCADA-data, time series data, time-waveforms, text-data, image data, and numerical data.

This role would suit a web software designer who wants to increase their previous involvement in UX and web product design to a more dedicated role, while still retaining an element of hands-on involvement.  

We’re looking for someone who can bring previous commercial web application design experience which included some component of UX design & development work, and a systematic approach to improving our users’ experience of our software products based on a synthesis of user, customer feedback and quantitative information. 

A portfolio of previous web UX and UI work is a critical component of a successful application, but the UX elements do not need to be commercial. We hope to use your portfolio to explore your systematic approach to improving users’ experience during your interview, as well as how you have helped to make products better.
